Hi there, long time no see=)

going to eventually buy a blaster -94 with some riva stuff on it, not sure what pipe it is exactly, and is that head any good, im running 98 octane. then there's a riva grate and riva plate on it. Anyone here that has some experience of this stuff?

Im very exited to get back to the sport after a 2 year break-up from it:arms:

That is the Riva"Red Pipe". It makes good power. Its downfall is serious surf ridding, the pipe is cast and is prone to cracking on hard landings.

The head is also good, Riva head. Check compression. up to 175 psi, you could run 91-93 octane. If your above 180 psi you can run the 98.
I think that is an o-ring head also. Might want to get another set of o-rings to have as a spare.
Welcome back to the sport!

Yep thats a Riva Red pipe. From the looks of it, it looks like it has gotten very hot to turn paint/poweder coating brown.
Look around for a Girdle head for piece of mind with cylinder damage.
But that hed is a good one. What CC domes are in it?

that head and pipe will make a "BIG" differance. do not ignore a few posts back why that pipe has changed colors, or is it just paint some one put over the red. look into why the color changed?? overheated?? don't pay good money for a motor that is hurt:Banane35:

If it did overheat, be sure to pay close attention to the water lines. If some melting action is present, thats a sign. If some or all are brand new as in being replaced that may be a sign. Oh yea look at the waterbox if you can. Sometimes waterbox's bite the big one when over heating has happened.

Thanks for all the good info to look into when im looking at it IRL. I see on the pics that i have that the waterbox is made of aluminium or some other metal, is this aftermarket? maybe the original got beaten up by heat?
i dont think the owner know the history bout the ski as it was imported from virginia last year and he is saying the ski runs fine. anything more to look extra carefully on?

can re-use if they still look good...no burned spots or distorted areas...use a little grease to hold them in place on install...
