Is this hole supposed to be there?

First and second pics are of the hole in the hose. The hose is located right next to the On hose and reserve hose. The third pic is what the hose leads to. Do I need to fix this? Where can I buy a replacement? Is this what is making my reserve not work? Thank you for all your help.
PS I'm a noob so take it easy. Sorry pics on next post.

Well the cheapest and easiest way would be to cut the end of that off if theres enough slack and re zip tie it back on make sure the hose is in decent cond else wear.

if its a fuel filter, plug the hole
or
is that the tank's one way?

I never understood why have a long hose their? Not only does it get in the way, it cost more, weighs more, and get's in the way. Also it works 100% as good with a 1/2 hose or a 10 foot long hose

ok, keep going find the very end.
I can not remember that that white thing is. it's their to collect water, but i that doesent help me with air/fuel line confusion

The white thing is a check valve that lets ambient air into the tank as you use fuel. The hole in the hose does not really matter, but you should take it off and cut the hose and then re zip tie it onto the nipple. The hose runs to a water separator and then runs up the pole - many people just run a coil of hose zip-tied together and then it runs to the white check valve - it will work no matter what but you want to keep water out. Easiest way is just to cut it flush and re zip tie it on.
