Is this good foam to use?

Gonna do some footholds and just wondering if this stuff is O.K. to use to fill the voids...

Yes that would work fine for the holds.

If you are just doing foot holds pick up a can of Great Stuff From Home depot. That will do the trick.

Will that Great stuff from HD deteriote when in contact with epoxy? Was thinking bout scupper as well while the hull is cut up.

Great stuff will not be affected by the epoxy resin. If you are also going to do scupper I would prefer the two part foam.

the problem I see with great stuff is it's not very ridged and a lot of the strength of a foot hold comes from the surrounding foam.

depends on how you do your install.......if you hog out the whole back channel, you might not want to use it...

if you grind the foam out to shape and just use a little bit of greatstuff to fill the void..I say go for it.....


I filled a little hole in my square tray with that stuff a couple of years ago...it formed ROCK HARD!

Don't be cheap, use the right stuff. 2 part foam is a much better and stronger choice than great stuff!!!!

I used it a couple of times on my house and it didn't get rock hard. if it gets hard like that then I'd use it too. :dunno:

Chris Maro's use to recommend "Great Stuff" For footholds. I used it the first time, but have since changed.
