Probably not use them? I don't know. I didn't know if it would be comfortable to put one foot in a front hold and have a back foot under the side tubes. They'd probably be to wide or the wrong angle or something.
I will have a Pancake Pete style front hold. These would probably be redundant.

What if you put holds in the tray sides that you would enter from the rear. Same orientation as the old Kawi 550 fire strorage/ extinguisher compartments. You would stick your feet into them from the rear, and maybe have a depresion in the turf to help lock your foot in?

I'd really like to do a top deck conversion, but this project will be done on the cheap. Almost everything will be hand fabricated.
