i took out my friends superjet today. it has a factory pipe. it has single cooling and temp was fine. i noticed when we started it before we put it in the water that smoke came out the pisser. when riding smoke doesnt come out, but when you shut it off some smoke comes out. compression looks good. is this normal or do i have a bad head gasket?
is pisser smoke normal?

If he just has one pisser, you will get smoke when there isn't water running through it. The line going to the stinger will push smoke up and out of the pisser.
If you are concerned about a head gasket, watch the water flow out of the spitter to make sure there isn't any air in it. Usually when you blip the throttle you will get bursts of air out the pisser with a head gasket leak.

It will blow steam out as well, especially right after the engine is shut off... so it might not be as much smoke as you think.

I get smoke and/or steam on all of my ski's. Especially at low RPM's. Seems normal to me......

some pissers tee into the exhaust to wet the chamber/waterbox. if there is no water running through it the pisser will smoke when the motor is running.
