It was common on dirt bikes in the early 70s. Problematic though.

Yes they leaked on the dirt bikes and vibration was a problem also,I am not sure it wouldn't work if it was with epoxy resin or sloshing compound though.

Yes, there is a specific resin that has to be used though. Not sure what it is, but it is out there.
Good for boats because the manufacturing prices are cheaper, but as for a custom tank on a ski, you could do it, but would probably spend less money and a lot less time finding a tank for a go-kart, there are numerous ones out there, not fiberglass, but thats a bonus, as some are much more abrasion resistant than most fiberglasses.
