Holding down the start button I get intermittent spark. If I tap the start button it sparks every time and will start.

*I have tried disconnecting the Stop switch and there was no change
*Sent Ignition coil to JSS for new wires. (btw JSS does amazing work with a quick turn around time)
*Tested Charge Coil Resistance
*Tested Pulse coil resistance
*Tested Lighting coil resistance
*Tried new spark plugs
*Fuse looks good
*Machine has 3 month old battery that I float charged a few hours before trying to start it
*Made sure all connections inside the ebox where tight

Any ideas on what else I can try/check?:dunno:

How many grounds are there on a Superjet? I noticed on the 550 there is a ground wire from the ebox. Does the superjet have more than just the ground going from the battery to the starter?

I realize this is a three year old thread but I'm having the same issue. Here is a little background on my ski. So I have the carb off testing/changing pop off pressure and when I put it back on the ski and hook up the water hose everything seems to be fine. I go though the low speed adjustment procedure and give it a few revs. It's a simple port and polish job, 44mm single mikuni, custom dry pipe and stock ebox/cdi. The ski will almost instantly hit the rev limiter so I did this a time or two and then it just cut off. Thinking I had an overly rich condition I pulled the plugs to check them out. It was overly rich but I expected them to be after dropping the pop off from 55psi to 25psi. Thinking the plugs might be to fouled to spark I bumped the start button with the plugs in the wires laying on the head. At first I had a very weak spark so I changed the plugs out for new ones. Then I had no spark. I pulled the ebox tested everything except the plug wires (didn't want to cut them to pieces) and the cdi box (hadn't found this yet). All my values were consistent with the test procedure I read on xh20 fact forum. Because I don't have a spare cdi I plan on testing it against the values listed above but I was just wondering if you ever resolved your issues? Maybe you just went with the hammer to the side haha. @Quinc
Thanks for your time,

I tested my CDI to chart above, out of spec. Took apart my dads ski and stole his CDI for testing on my ski, this fixed my problem. The weird thing is my ski had no spark last night but today after work it had spark for a min then went away. I'm guessing that as the electrical components see current they heat up and break contact. Conclusion: Bad CDI with intermittent symptoms (20+ year old electronics)
