Intermediate shaft adjustment?

re-installing my drive line after paint on the ski. Noticed when I was shimming the engine that there was a much larger then normal gap between the couplers (definately out of the 2-4mm) tolerance.

Pulled the midshaft housing back off and realized the shaft has been pushed back through the housing quite a bit. If I get the shaft pressed back to tolerance (approx. 3/4 inch) will all be OK? Is there potentail damage related to the shaft being forced back or having it pressed back forward?

Just press it back where it needs to be. Should be fine after that.

Thanks Matt. Appreciate it, thought maybe so with it being how it gets assembled to begin with but wanted to make sure. Next step is to stop doing tail stabs into the bottom of the ocean.
