Has anyone made their own scoop grate out of a stock one? I realize that most of them are cast and could be difficult to weld although I have had success welding cast before...

I was thinking of hammering and piece if 1/4" plate aluminum into a scoop, notching for the the two strips and welding it around the two strips on both sides of the stock one. think it would hold with all that pressure? worth the risk of cracking a pump? does anyone have pics of one they have made?

thanks guys

If you have the capability to weld, why not just start fresh with bar and plate stock? It'd certainly be stronger and less likely to break apart and wreck your prop and pump.

I did. It was the only way I could find something aggressive enough for a 650 pump. But damn i just searched for 20 minutes and cant find pictures of it.

EItherway I matched the arc of the Worx 201, and then just seated it a bit deeper. Works great for keeping my shallow pump hooked up.
