Who has it,who thinks they don't need it,who's getting it? I personally have never had insurance on a watercraft but a convincing argument has been made for it.There is some medical insurance coverage for accidents which it seems have been happening in some frequency lately,some of these people did not have insurance to cover their medical bills.Whats your opinion on this?

My state requires me to have liability, its like $86 per ski per year.

IM not complaining... covers my ass if I ever had an accident that hurt someone, or broke someones nice boat...

Requiring insurance in every state will just mean that more people will be riding illegally.

Like car insurance... Here, I'm willing to bet just a little over half of the drivers have insurance. Requiring insurance doesn't mean that everyone will have insurance. It just means those that don't will get in trouble for it.

I got it... was going to do a value stated deal but that was going to be too much damn work.... right now State Farm has my ski at $6000.... its an 07 with a lot of extras, but if I got the 6000 then it wouldnt be a total loss at least.... it also covers liability to some extent... cant remember how much $$ though... it was pretty cheap too...

I have it, just liability. I think it was 300k damage and 10k medical and some other stuff. It was roughly 140 for the whole year.

After seeing atleast one ski fly accross the bay WOT without a rider i just feel that much better having it.

As of now I have no insurance on the ski, will probably check into it when I buy my new vehicle and switch insurance carriers though.

Everyone needs at least some Liability coverage for their ski.
The medical payments coverage for the rider is usually optional. I have $50k liability & $10k medical payments coverage for the rider for $85/year.

It is definatly worth the 80-150 dollars that it costs, I never have had a claim but it will be there if i do!!

I just did a claim for a customer from Progressive insurance,something went through the jet pump on his GTX limited and took out the jet pump,wear ring,impeller,pump support,pump shoe and damaged the hull to the tune of about $1400.00.They paid the claim no problem the customer had a check the next day.

also check your home owners insurance. my ski was covered for 300k liability under my parents old home owners insurance and it was only like 10 bucks extra on the bill.

worth checking out, dirt cheap. some have it otheres dont the new insurance company does not offer it.

yeah progressive rocks, state farm and ski safe wouldn't even insure my skis

Have it. Will always have it. Use AllState and its only a couple hundred a year on my 2006 orca.
