Super Jet Installed MSD enhancer and ski runs like crap

you are assuming it came set at 8000. My Race partner and I showed up at Round 2 of the 2000 Nationals and put our ski's in the water. Cranked up and it sounded terrible. He had just installed the enhancer. Pulled the electrical box, opened it up, guess what, The Rev Limiter was turned all the way down, he never touched it. Always check it.

I just got an MSD enhancer with a square nose I picked up. I'm guessing it's an old version, but how would I tell? It's not currently installed in the ski. I think the number was 4253 on it, but would have to verify. The ski is a 95 with the 61X cases and cylinders. Any help on figuring out what I have would be great. What are the differences in function of the old and new versions?

.

Its the exact same as the 2012 version... no change

I turned my enhancer to 9,000 and then sealed the adjuster with silicon in case of water intrusion into the electrical box...the motor sings major rpm's and I noticed snappier bottom end...imo enhancers are worth it.

Thanks. Can I ask a really dumb question...what do people mean by "old" version? Just trying to figure out what I have. Once I know that, I can figure out how to move forward.
compared to my 2010 version, the # are the same, but we did notice the assy that locks down the rev. limiter screw is a little different design. wonder if these are imitations like with the ada head?
