Super Jet info on carbon

hi i just bought a used WDK R.E.V. hull that is pre preg carbon fiber and the guy i bought it from said he bought some epoxy and redone the bottem of the hull but it doesnt look very good. my question is how do i fix this. do i just lightly sand till smooth then reepoxy. or is it even worth doing. other than the uneven epoxy and some minor scratches on the bottem, the rest of hull looks great. thanks 102nd7

pictures would be good... did he lay new carbon on the bottom or just add expoxy?

if its just epoxy you might just have to sand it, and maybe add a layer of carbon to make er' look pretty again.

if you're not doing anything with the carbon itself, i'd sand some of the rough areas and get some epoxy based filler, just smooth it out. i don't see any broken/severely damaged carbon on the hull. just ugly epoxy.

So just sand and re epoxy then. And yes it seems to be a very nice hull and I'm super excited to get started on it. This is going to be my 1st build.

Either ride it as is or sand it and paint it. If you are trying to maintain the shiny visual carbon look, you're going to be sanding and buffing straight into August.

Visual carbon on the bottom is not going to work well it will get scraped and rubbed off.
if its structurally sound make the sides and top look good and call it a day. its summer man get it together and ride!
