Well I finally got my Skat-Trak impeller.

I got the impeller tool with it, and I have the yamaha driveshaft tool as well.

However, I do not have the impeller tool to remove the Solas that is currently on my superjet... is there anyway I can remove it w/out this?

Thanks

I'm going to do this now and want to ask what do I re-torque the impeller too?

Also am I remembering something else or is it reverse thread?

Anything else to know when I do this impeller swap.

Please post up now instead of later ;) I'm gonna be working on this now and could use the advice.

Thanks everyone.

How would you torque the impeller anyway. Now way to get the wrench on there. Just tighten it down but make sure you put anti seize on the threads or you wont get it off especially with the el cheapo scat impeller tool. By the way, if you use a pipe wrench you will booger it up.

Vice, large cressent (spell?), and the impeller was loose. It was a LOT easier than anyone made it sound, probably because the impeller wasn't on there to long???

Anyway, it was a 14.7 - 18.5 no wonder I had no low-end and all mid to high-end!!!!

Question:
Once installed the new impeller contacted the pump housing in 1 spot during rotation, it was still loose enough to easily turn with one hand... I took it out and used fine grit sand paper and then re-installed, now it barely touches and is only slightly noticeable when rotating... Should I take it out again and make sure it doesn't touch 100% or is that slight touch ok?
