Im back home from Pismo before most people have even arrived. Me and my buddy jack arrived wendsay at around 3. Set up camp, then went for a ride. I just recovered from a fractured left fibula, and this was my first real ride since (besides two 5 minute test rides to make sure my ski ran) my recovery. So we out riding, I jump a few waves, do a roll, then jump a small 2 footer and break my right tibia.

I tried to stay, but the pain was unbearable, especially trying to get around in the sand, and the rv, so my awsome mom came and picked me up this morning, plus I have to go back to the doctors tomarrow so they can decide if I need a rod or not.

And big thanks to Chad Canepa for picking me up at the hospital, since my buddys RV was stuck in the sand.

So everyone take some pictures for me, and have fun...and dont do what I did.

Feartheride you still should be bummed your not going! Its gonna be the weekend of the year! Im super bummed i wont be there. But yup things could definatly be worse, I'll be back out in pismo in a few months or so, so its not soo bad, i only wish it could have happened at least after a full days ride! haha, oh well.

Yeah jared, jacks still there....along with my ski.

I know I was thinking the same thing about the calcium, but i drink sooo much milk its not even funny, Its seriously like the only thing i drink, lol. Iv never broken a bone before the fracture 3 months ago. Im pretty sure i have normally strong bones, iv just been having bad luck. lol.

Man that sucks, I hope that you heal up quickly and that you don't have to have a rod. I'll be prayin' for a quick recovery.

Thanks guys,

After spending the day at the hospital and taking tons of x-rays from different angles, talking to a bunch of different doctors, bone surgeons, and orthopedic doctors, I do not need a rod, or any surgery. :cheer:

Just a full length cast and a few months of down time...not so bad. But boy did it hurt as they realigned it and put on my new cast!

Sorry to hear about the injury man. I was curious how you did it?

I was just getting use to the ski, trying different riding positions, trying out my new klowner footholds (which i love) and my new front strap for "surf style" riding.

So i had my front foot in my front strap and back foot sideways in the tray, so like a surfboard position, and i just jumped a small 2 foot broken wave with some speed, and the nose went high, and i landed tail first pretty hard, and my rear leg (right) took the first impact, and twisted forward and broke like a broomstick.

Wow I bet that hurt like helll! I did something similar a long time ago on a 440. Just like you said hit a small wave that was jacked up going way to fast and flew nose high. When I landed with the ski vertical it kinda dug in and completely stretched my achillies out BAD. I had to crawl up the beach. I was sure it was broke but it wasn't. Your luck is going to improve now that you got all the bad luck out of the way for a while now.

Ah Nate! I had no idea you were injured when I called and left that message telling you to hurry up and get your fanny there...with directions to the correct Mile Marker. SO bummed for you.....I hope you're up and feeling better soon. You need to kiss some bovine backside and get in good with the granter of the miracle elixir baby ;)

Apparently, you're REALLY an alien Brittleactican Nate! http://www.planetinneed.com/

When you're healed, we'll trek back and ride as I didn't even get my ski wet this weekend I was so busy =(

It was real nice meeting you, Nate. I was about to start a thread about the worst injury at Pismo this weekend and nominate you, but it looks like you got your thread right here! I'm glad no surgery. The cast should be relatively cheap.

Guy - i hate to tell you this, but Matt Oppen wins the bloodiest gash injury award...I'll get the pics and post them. His ski was COVERED in blood.....he didn't want to wear a helmet, but I think he will next time he rides...LOL!

NathanMoore,
we pulled in after you left, well, we met jack and his GF. and saw yout ski on the trailer.
Tell his ass to post something on thie site so we will know how to get ahold of him.

Seriously Jerry - it was close, but he wins. I gotta get these pics. it was gnarley!

How many stitches did you end up with? His were like Frankenstein stitches...and in a "t" shape too!
