i just emailed Scott. What do you guys think?

Mr. Frazier,
Today you posted on PWCTODAY.COM about the rules for videos of world finals. I would like to further my understand the legal standings you have to stop these videos from being on the website. I would also like to understand how this "rule" will further the sport and help the riders. I myself have spent thousands of dollars competeing this year with the IJSBA and am seriously considering boycotting the IJSBA. I am not the only one who is considering this at this time. I have a couple of questions and suggestions, please read them and email me back. I am not trying to make this a flame the IJSBA conversation. I LOVE jet sking and it sadens me to see the competion aspect of it being washed down the drain.

1. What is the legal standing that you would take if you took somone to court for posting the videos on their personal website? it is their website and it is not copywrited material. it is video that the person shot with their own camera.
2. What legal standing do you have if someone sold it. They spend the time to video tape and edit it.
3. what if a rider wants to use the video they have shot for a sponsorship movie? Would that be illegal also?
4.If i (as a spectator) showed up in the IJSBAs video of WF does that mean i can take legal action against the IJSBA for using me in the video without my concent? you are comparing this to a high dollar production movie or motocross film. I never see bystanders in professional films.

Now for some suggetions,

1.As you hopefully know, the IJSBA is going downhill fast! Something needs to be done to fix this.I think, and i think others would agree, the IJSBA needs riders in its commitee to help make rules for competing. Why do you think there were only 5 Pro competitors , and most of them were from the USA.
2. Make your event a true WFs. Do not have 7 people from california in the amature competition. If you want to have a professional event, be professional and stick to the rules and have ONE rider per region.
3.Make a schedual for the world finals and stick to it! Me, along with 99% of the people there were extrmemly frustrated with how unorganized this event was.

Please take these things into consideration. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Jerry,

That was one of the most well written responses to ANYTHING that I have ever read in my life. I am glad you are on the good guys' team!!

Well done brutha, well done :headbang: :headbang:

Very nicely worded response Jerry. Just because someone has a bigger legal vocabulary doesn't mean they're better than you OR correct. Just remember that one side is wrong in every legal dispute....and you're side is looking pretty good.
Keep at it.

Thanks for the good words guys. I don't take kindly to bullies....I never have. I won't let Scott push me around and rob this sport of the little publicity it has.
