Surfriding Ideas on changing a Skis turning characteristics

I would like to get a little more "Flick able" feel out of my skis handling WITHOUT cutting the hull any shorter. I'm not sure if this is even possible. I have noticed the trend on most aftermarket hulls for the pump to be mounted set back to the point its protruding out the rear of the hull, and was wondering how this affects the steering. It seems most of these hulls seem to be able to accommodate a flat spin 360 rather easily. I realize there are other factors (Most hulls are much shorter than stock, big HP motors) However I am specifically wondering how the set back location of the pumps makes a stock ski handle. where Master Blaster set his pump back 3" and gave it some good reviews, Anyone else experiment with this?

I don't want it to handle poorly in big surf. What I really want is a Lightweights adjustable length ride plate on my RN. Norberts design is MONEY!!!!

the further back the steering nozzle is makes it turn faster. think about it like a pivot point. i think that's how it works anyways.

HA HA thats funny! Seriously though, I pile drived a backy off a 3 foot wave yesterday and didn't even get a gel coat crack! I thought I did too, I hit HARD! I'm liking my solid reinforcement!

I'm adding pump mounts in the area 51 so I can add an extra ware ring . It should set the pump back about 2.5 inches . Master blaster did it , but really never heard much after the mod .

Hey John , a longer turn nozzle will help some , a stock intake grate will let it slide more too.

I did a 2" setback custom pump (Kawi 148mm) on one of my Fx-1s and the nozzle/pivot moved back made it super steering responsive. Then again the Fx-1s are already super flickable.

Get a shaft stan. Find one cheap.

Stan and I were talkin a while ago about a telescopical steering nozzle that would let the steering nozzle go 45 to 45. A cable would need to be made but man, how sick would that be.... Slashing HARD SON. 720 spins.
