I want to take my ski with me to work.

Some of you already know i'm a trucker. I haul big boats. People have always said to me that i should try to figure out how to take my ski with me since i always deliver somewhere near the water.

I finally have such an addiction with the skis that i now want to try to do this right. There is enough room behind the cab. The little catwalk will hold the ski but how do i get it on and off? Then what about a dolly?

I was thinking about a boom and a winch that i could hook up to the front of the trailer. Theres plenty of pockets that box steel will fit into. I just have to swing it somehow.

Give me some ideas. Here's a pic of the Kenworth i drive. It's a T2000 and the trailer is 6" off the ground.

I want to tuck it in behind the cab. I bought the ski home on that trailer but i need all the room for the bigger boats.

that or the roller ramps they use to get them in and out of truck beds. mount a winch and pull it up and have some runners mounted for it to set on. and of course a beach dolly.

There is enough room on the cat walk to store a ski on a beach dolly and a little 70cc 4wheeler. That could get you to the water and the winch could pick it all up to set it all in place. Sounds like a dream...:hail: You could ride waters all over the country

Use the users map and set up ride times will all the x-h20 members...

It would be a costly set up to start with but once it is up and running it would be grat. And once you get to bust it up with the oceanside crew and then the Surf Sluts in the same month the money won't mean a thing.

Couple things I can think of off the top of my head.

Some type of creeper type cart thats low profile that the ski can get strapped on and easily move back and forth and side to side. Then just build a smooth ramp off the side that you can use to go up and down the side of the truck. Having a winch then on the other side would then help bring the ski back up because it might be a bit heavy to push up by yourself. Could prolly build a decent beach cart to do the same thing and then give you the ability to roll it on the sand.

You should build a trebuchet . Then you could just throw the ski out into the water. With some practice (maybe buy some Kawasakis for practice?) you should be able to LAUNCH from the parking lot and avoid that pesky boat ramp all together.

FELIX word up ma brotha!! that setup is baaad. I would talk to Torpedo on the X, he setup something that you would use. He just dollies his ski on and off the trailer without actually touching the ski, its pretty sweet.

Nice tractor. It must have looked funny if you just had the standup on that trailer!

Yeah, after i dropped off the Sea Ray i rode like 300 miles with just the SJ on it and all the truckers were all over the CB sayin "Damn, that must be one heavy jetski for all that trailer".

If they only knew.

The weather is starting to get better. I need to move fast.

Fe: (hope you had a good time in atlanta). Gimme a shout and I can get you set up cheap through a heavy duty truck mechanic (now in Pensacola) I use to have on retainer in Atlanta. The guy is a genius and use to do all kinds of things for me with a 32 ton crane I have, not to mention a few boom trucks. I'm talking about some serious jerry rigging in short notice time for hurricane relief. I promise it will pay off for you.
