Was hanging out at the river today...only there 5 mins. Morgan wants me to do a foutain and spray her and her cousin who are ont he XP. I did and dropped it and everything was great for about 2 seconds....got on the throttle and it made the "i ingested water noise" and went dead which it usually dosnt do.

I pulle dit ashore without hitting the button. Pulled pulled and hit button. CLICK! acts like its hydro locked with plugs out. I turn it on its side.....and about a liter poured out of my rear cyclinder but not a drop out of my right.

I got all the water out i could but it still seems hydro locked!!!! The posital terminal on my battery will even let a puff of smoke out when i hit the green button....

WTF is up!!!!

Se if you can turn it by hand, you might have thrown a rod.

Every few hits of the button water would shoot out

your bendix could have let loose and is tying up the flywheel
could have thrown a rod

puff of smoke from batt term could just be a bad connection......

sorry, I dont have any more solenoids...

Alright! Whos got there pick? Bendix or Rod....We're taking bets

Yeah....My first guess is the bendix/starter because they are stock 97s and are rusted ont he ouside pretty bad.

Thrown rod sounds like it could ef be a problem too but....I felt no vibration or knocking when turning my ski over on the beach before it went dead.

So praying for a dead bendix over rod. I stillc ant figure out how it got in ym REAR cyclinder only.

PS....i have a brand new solonoid form magoo i got in daytona.....im good there lol

Well, my bendix just fell apart YESTERDAY and I'm replacing it NOW so I'll go with that.

However, since it happened while doing a foutnain, it's more likely something to do with the crank.

Pull the plugs, flip the ski over and crank it to get all water out and see how that goes.

Water is incompressible so if you ever get a lot of water on top of your piston you're guranateed to break something (usually the rod).

Do you have a single carb? If there was only water in your back cylinder, maybe your front rod punched a hole in the cases and let the water drain out.

You better pray for a bad bendix :banghead:

Put the ski completely upside down, cover one plug hole with your thumb- crank it over with a freshly charged battery. I'd do this before getting too worried. Chances are you still have water in the crankcase.

If that doesn't work- start praying that it's the bendix

Don't let water stay in the crankcase very long!! Hurry up and do like they suggested and crank with your thumb over the plug hole until you get down to just barely a mist of water. You can then use some premix or your primer to get alot of fuel in the crankcase. This will help displace the water. You will have to put the plugs in and it might hit a little. Pull the plugs clean em off and try again. It will hit more and more but you will have to keep pulling the plugs and cleaning them off and priming it. It will eventually start, let the motor heat up and ride for a little while to clear out all the left over water from the engine. If you are lucky the bottom end will be ok. Check your compression and the rear crank seal to make sure it did not pop out. If you have to replace the bendix be sure and check the front crank seal while you are at it. Good luck..:banghead:

I completely know the uniform way to unhyrdro lock a ski. The problem is....it's hard top unlock a ski by blowing the water out of plug holes when it wont turn over. I've sunk my skia nd brought it backt o life...thats not the problem.

However....this can be

PS....Thanks to my man Tricky1 for giving me a quick tutorial on removing the cyclinder and pistons since it was my first shot at it.

Yeah its hard to pump water out of a cyclinder when the rod is against the crank

Nah front rod is fine. My cyclinders pistons, and crankcase all seem fine aswell

Man, that sucks, if you are lucky you can find a good crank for around $200 from someone who has pulled a good one to build a stroker. Otherwise go ahead and spend the $400 and get a good welded rebuild with Hot Rods. I am sure that Tricky1 will hook you up with the bottom end rebuild. Good luck.
