I thikn my electronics are getting wet?

Running my 1992 61x 701 superjet over the week of the 4th. It ran perfect the first weekend and then a mid-week day. Then friday when riding it after about an hour and a half i fell off and it would not start back up. Could smell fuel coming out the exhaust so i know its not a fuel issue. So i pulled the hood and the plugs had zero spark. I let it sit for 2 hours with the hood off, and then it started and ran fine again. So i took it back out on the water, ran fine for the first 10 minutes until i fell off again, then the same problem. No spark. So i let it sit for about 2 hours again and it fired right up. Am i getting water in my Ebox? Could a flywheel problem cause this?

Edit: Sorry about title spelling. Typing to quickly and not proof reading.

you running the heat sensor on the head still ???
you may also have water inside the ebox, or even in the flywheel cover.

if you take your ebox apart, dont forget to use a #3 phillips bit to unscrew the screw's.
a #2 bit or screw driver will strip out the heads on the screws.

mine had water inside the ebox, but i never had an issue.
when i took mine apart a sprayed it with wd40, now i'm readt to get wet again.

good luck

Pull the E-box apart and look for water intrusion.

If it's not obvious check the coil primary & secondary resistance and stator pulser coil resistance.

Pulled the ebox apart. There is no sign of water intrusion at all. Next step will be to pull the flywheel cover to check that.

Just another question, but the used CDI i had bought with an adjustable rev limiter, could that be my problem. Would a bad CDI give spark when the motor is cold, but none when the motor is hot? Or is that a stator issue? I know it is a problem with snowmobile two stroke motors, have had the stator go bad and it would only run when it was cold but when the motor warmed up it would quit running.

Edit: Just checked the flywheel cover over my lunch hour. And there is no water intusion there either.

How do i check if the stator is working properly? Like what are the steps?

Problem solved. The CDI i had bought with the adjustbale rev limiter was fried. Put the old one in from my 6m6 and it fired and ran beautifully. Problem solved.
