I need a cover help!

ok I need a cover for my 99 SJ. I need one the will obviously fit over my xmetal bars. I know the blowsion one says it does, but I remember reading somewhere that you can get the exact blowsion one cheaper somewhere.. But I just need a good cover for winter.

my sj came with a stock cover, but it was beat. it was old and very rough and stiff. It would scratch the paint for sure, so I pitched it. There also was no soft layer sewn in on the inside to protect the ski... I dunno if they have improved the stock cover since 99.

you can

go to kmart and get child sheets get a king size fitted sheet they are made out of rubber and shed water and leaves nice you can get 2 they are 4.99 each. make sure you get fitted with the elastic and tie knots to spec on sides..

also for full coverage and long term storange you can but one for the bottom also make sure you have breather hole or somthing so its not all condeced with water

Go to Overton's web site.They make a really nice cover for ski, for like $50:00 bux......
For your SJ just order up the SXR size and you are good to go.

A nice blue square nose SJ Yamaha OEM cover works great on my round nose SJ with Xmetal steering set-up.
It was extra tight with aftermarket bars with the cover on my square, but fits the round way better. I thinks it because of the lowered hood, nose piece etc..

Covercraft

I have owned all three covers (Slippery, OEM, and Covercraft)


Slippery - features - Extra Straps, Zipper to access tray and fuel cap, heavy duty nylon (better than OEM and Covercraft) Excellent fit
OEM - features -Vaccum hold, quality nylon (not as heavy as the slippery) Excellent fit can be a little too tight if the bar aren't perfect straight,
Covercraft - features - Zippers to access tray and fuel cap, Good nylon (not as heavy as Slippery or OEM) excellent fit

All three of these trailer well. My favorite was Slippery because it was easier to get on and it let me access tray to stow stuff without un doing the tiedowns. The OEM look very cool graphics and have a tight fit, Sometimes a pain to get on. Covercraft is a excellent fitting cover at a great price.

Just my 2 cent.

X2...I have a Slippery and like it a lot. The Vacu-hold ones might be ok if you don't ride much and only cover while trailering. But I ride nearly every day, so the cover comes off and is put back on daily, and those Vacu-holds can take two men and a small boy to get them back on just right, especially if you have a shortened pole or aftermarket bars.
