I think the best thing to do is only read the posts with solid explanations. Any post stating an opinion without a backup story is useless. If the person posting can't be bothered long enough to state which product they like and why they believe this is true, then I don't put much stock into the post.
It's funny you mention this. I get a kick out of reading posts where people use the statement, "It should work..." I perceive this to really mean that the statement they are giving is second-hand and they have probably only heard it here on the board and that there is little substance behind the statement. I hear the same thing from so-called experts at my job also. I would only take advice from an, "It will..." followed by some supportive logical reasoning.
