Im not trying to bust any balls here but i had to post this.
Guys on forum websites can be a pain in the azzzz.. Everyone has there own thoughts and most others dont have the same opinion. Which is fine, but hard to get good advice on what works and what doesn't. Like i said i just wanted to say it, no feelings to be hurt.
I'm the same way...:bad3:

The problem is no one thing works for everyone, what works for some may not work for others. So there will always be controversy on what works best.

yeah, BUT...

it's nice to come to a place where u don't get banned for not having the opinion that goes along with the establishment. u find that there is lots of advice available and more than one way to do the same thing. however when it's all said and done, you take a little time and watch a website like this to find out who knows what the hell they're talking about. i've found more good, honest and best of all, quick replies to be had on this website.:Banane09:

One must remember to use the internet wisely young grasshopper LOL

As with most situations take all the advice for what it is and decide what way will work best for you!!

I feel your pain hardcore.

trial and error gets spendy $$$ fast.

you have to read and learn for a long time before you can really put any weight with the various opinions.

and then you can TRY and weed out what is personal, and what is factual.

once you have figured this out, please teach me how

its a forum.... every forum in existance shares what was stated above.... exept for that I actually like this one :)

You have to read the threads and apply a good understanding of the way things work to make sense of things. Read more and more about the same topic also - and you will see answers repeat themselves with good reviews on solutions which may help point out what solution works better... sometimes there is more than one right answer too and you will just get a bunch of people saying which way they like it better as the right answer...

I would rather have conflicting points of view... usually makes for some great discussions and reading.

agree, end of last season i bought two 550's because i wanted to get into the sport. pieces of junk, lost hundreds of dollars. didn't know anything. went out and got myself a superjet. learn a lot by reading and using the searchbar, even though it's mostly opinions, there's some good ones to listen to and form an opinion, or general direction to go on something!

Ive been on pwctoday then to here since I was 14. I bought my first ski a kawi 440 shortly before. I am now 20 and have built that 440 to a 550, did all kinds of mods, then bought a bone stock 650 SJ only because of funds, from what I learned on these forums I would have bought something more modded if I could, anyways then shortly after I purchased that SJ I tore it down and built a freestyle machine. ALL of my knowledge of jetskis besides learning from experience came from these two sites. I could have never done what I did without them, no way would have I found parts for as cheap as I did in the for sales sections, the info to buy the parts, what works for my application, the info to fix and install the parts, and info to get new ideas for tricks to work on. I never really gained many friends from this site, but definately hooked up some friends and got 4 other people into riding that never would have without me or these sites. I have no complaints. Just read a lot and learn from experience. The skis in the pic would have never been built or would I have rode in Daytona if not for the X. Oh so touching, I might cry.

I forgot!
after riding and wrenching for several years, one will tend to form opinions on what works well for themselves, and what doesn't. Sometimes we have good ideas and some not so good. I think that after being on this forum for several years you will start to see who likes to setup their skis close to the way you would. you then may tend to take those opinions over others. Its a wealth of info, great way to talk to friends, and find out who and where to ride. I would never have gone to a FSF or Mike Jansen Race if it wasn't for this site and PWCT. i also have been building up my superjet slowly for the past 3 years. Every part that i thought about buying, i read about it on here. I then chose when it would be a good time to get it, or not bother with it. i have yet to buy a part for my ski that i was dissapointed in. You just gotta learn to ride your setup the best you can. ROCK ON GUYS!!!

Spend a couple hundred dollars on a plane ticket to one of the freerides and you will get to try many people's skis to judge for yourself. Spending $300.00-$500.00 on a weekend trip will be worth a lot more than laying out thousands of dollars with the wrong builder.

Just remember that most of the common setups work well, some slightly better than others, and a few are noticeably better than others.

Also, if your ski makes more power than you are taking advantage of with your skills, then practicing is probably what you should be working on anyway.
