I have a few questions

I am looking to get a stand up but i have a few questions

1 Do all stand ups come with a bilge pump?

2 Is the bilge pump needed if you submarine or go on the front and spray?

3 Is there any place in MN that rents stand up skis?

Thanks in advance

(1) AFAIK, all PWC come with some sort of bilge pump. I have an aftermarket Rule 500 bilge pump in my squarenose superjet but have never gotten around to wiring in an on/off switch - the stock bilge pump does the job. (I still intend to hook up the Rule pump though - it might come in handy if I ever lose my ski in the surf.)

(2) I have done both on my superjet with only the stock bilge pump. I wouldn't want to spray for toooo long though. Keep in mind that for spraying, you need to pump from the front of the hull. My Rule 500 mounted near the midshaft housing wouldn't do much good for a super-long spray.

(3) Can't help you there, sorry!

1 - None do,
2 - not really,
3 - I doubt it.

Now go get a superjet and change that screen name!!!

All stock skis come with a bailer type setup to empty the bilge. This uses the velocity of the water in the jet pump to suck water out of the hull. Effective, but not a very speedy way to empty your hull. Subs and fountains are fine with this setup as long as you don't get really carried away.

It would be best to just get a bilge pump if you want to be underwater. They are cheap and easy to install (Depending on what time of switch you go with) Just rode Lake Vermillion in Minnesota for the week it was a blast, Im from Minnesota, but Im stationed in California now. Definatley some awesome lakes to ride back home! Oh yeah... there is no where to rent a stand up ski. Not in MN, not anywhere!

Google TCjetpilots They are are group that rides in Minnesota they might let you get on one of there ski's to try one out. In fact I think they are having a huge ride this weekend in Lake City, would be the perfect opportunity to go out and see what it is all about.
