steve just posted to tape your seams before you cut it, i just used duct tape, then pealed off when cured.

waste, that is just a stock pad (quite beat to hell thanks to rmbc freeride i might add...), i shaved the edges quite a bit to give the low profile look. then just turfed it.

if your contacted it correctly (Applied Glue) you could not have to pin it or anything, it should stick on its own............ best if you heat the turf up, you can just sit it out in the sun for a while!

Use super glue around the edges after the contact cement dries and it will never peel off.

Also what BK said, heat and contact cement. Remember to let the contact cement dry on both pieces before you put them together.

So you didn't have any problem with the resin stealing pieces of your duct tape as you peeled it off? Do you resin both sides of the fabric except obviously where the tape is?

Nice job, btw

oh man, i cant freakin' wait to get my c/k....it should be here pretty soon...good tip Tim...Ill use it for sure....

i actually just did something similar with a chinpad for my fx project..

hehe, ya read it the wrong way, it was more of a good job

u hooked me up with the pad for basically nothing, thanks:woot: nothing a little sheet metal and rivits couldnt fix

the turf stuck fine without any pins, i just added them to ensure that it wouldn't pull away while it was drying. used lots of clothes pins cause they dont smash the turf really, just hold it down. if you use larger, heavier spring, clamps it can dent your turf.

pad is just wide enough to hit the sides of my hood. didnt do it without the turf but does now. looks like i may need to get creative on the trimming or remove the turf and cut and rivit the thing and returf:rolleyes:

EDIT: i guess it doesnt rub too much, just on the edge, i'll just sand the edge down.
