I just got this head and I need some info on what I should watch out for and any other info you got on it and my application.
Im gonna put it on my 93 650, engine is all stock right now. Now, I want to get a stock size head gasket right. Wheres the best cheapest place to get one? Do I need to adjust the carbs? Any break in necessary? i'll definately run 93 octane but anything else I should watch out for? Is a compression check necessary before I ride? thanks

one of those domes is messed up. i personally wouldnt run it.

The head isn't that bad. I would buff out those little pits though to avoid any hot spots. Hot spots can lead to detonation. You can use a dremel to buff them down with a sanding disk.

ya I guess a 16 yr old motor is exactly as tight as it use to be. Well Ill run it for this season and I plan on looking for a 701 to build next year. The engine runs great now and has no signs of major wear but i'll see when I take the head off.

I'm sure the company claims it tries to initiate a cyclonic action to the fuel air mixture for a better burn. Of course it doesn't work. Just a guess:biggthumpup:

No carb adjustment is necessary but you do need to check your squish angle and check compression to see where you are at. You can get a head gasket from jet ski soluitions or just about any place.

so .50, any smaller and its too high, what happens? Larger then what? If im going to run 93, the very max is about 180-190 psi. If its around there and 93 doesnt cut it, how do I know how much vp to run.

youre okay with .040" squish if youre not a WOT'er.

if the squish is to small, the piston crowns MAY hit the domes due to the rods stretching at high rpms.

if your psi is 180-190, you wont need VP
