Those are engine part designations for Yamaha's.

61X can refer to either the single carb 701 cases or a 701 cylinder that came with all 701 Superjets and Waveblasters.
62T can refer to either the dual carb 701 cases or the 701 cylinder that came with bigger 701 sitdown skis.

Difference between 61X and 62T cases is this: the angle of the intake tract is different. The 62T intake tract is bigger and better for dual carbs.
Difference between 61X and 62T cylinders: 62T cylinders have a thicker casting, less prone to cracking. They have different sleeves and different porting specs. This makes the 62T cylinder be more oriented towards more power higher up the RPM band and as a consequence, it has less bottom end power.
Also, the 61X cylinder uses 8mm exhaust bolts. The 62T cylinder uses 10mm bolts.

61X and 62T cylinders are visually about identical, so no point in posting a picture. There is a stamping on the side of each cylinder that identifies which it is.

61x, 62t, and 64x cylinders are interchangeable with 61x and 62t cases. The cranks and rods are all the same, piston size is the same in 61x and 62t, larger in a 64x which is a 62t cylinder with larger sleeves. The 62t and 64x cylinders have different size exhaust bolt holes than a 61x, one is 8mm the other is 10mm but I can't remember which. Flywheels and stators are interchangeable between cases as long as the stator matches the flywheel (2 different sets)

Not quite.
The 760 64X cylinder will not fit on a standard 62T or 61X case without some work to the cases. The sleeve bottoms have a larger diameter than what the stock cases can accommodate. This is an easy fix via fly cut or dremel.
