I got on sunday from an older guy "wow a blast from the Past that looks really good for an old GAL" I reply "yeah it goes WAAAAYYYY back to 2004"

I also like when people say something along the lines of "oh you have one of the cheap ones" since we all know we don't tie any money up in these things. I shutter to think what it would cost to build a ski if you paid retail for everything and had paid someone to do all the work I would guess $12-15k easy.

My neighbor had a friend over this weekend. I pull up to my dock on my ski and of course the first question was "They don't make them anymore,do they?" So I set him straight on that one. He then asks what size engines they come with now. I say "Kawi makes the SXR which is almost 800cc" He says "Wow, is that so two people can ride on it?" :loser:

Mostly I just get people staring and I have to make sure I still have my shorts! sometimes I get " man that looks like fun!" I just smile and am thankful I'm riding not watchin.

My favorite was definitely one day I pulled up to the tire line at Cypress Gardens with my helmet on, and the little kid on the back of his dad's RXP looks at his dad and says "daddy you need a cool jetski like that one." I tried not to laugh my ass off, and the guy just rolled his eyes.

Are they doing some type of jet ski show at Cypress Gardens now??? Are you in the show and if so, what is a tire line?? :dunno:  I know they re-opened but, not sure to what level they are doing ski shows and the like.

Yea.... Seems like little kids know whats up, they are always stoked to see a SJ or a blaster. They just look, smile, stare and point. Seems like rather then the parnets coming over to ask some questions about it like "do they still make those", they will usualy grab there kids and walk away! Poor little guys. If only there parents were cool anough to own one!

Yup!

A couple of weeks ago I was at the river with Phill. Some friends of a friend showed up, and you could tell they wanted to ride. Sure, why not...the fella was slightly overweight (300lbs?) but what the hell.
A noob is gonna hurt himself before anyone else.
So right before he grabs the start button, he turns and says in a rather cool manner: "So, those pretty much ride like quads, right?"

Me: :haha:

you should have said... "o yea of course it does":sneaky:

I love the horrendously overweight people who walk up to you on Daytona beach and ask "Where do you rent those". This was on a 6+ day.
I know nick is tired of those quesitons but I still find them entertaining...

I just laughed on the inside. As expected, he got dragged around for a while, lost a shoe, and came back in defeated. :haha:

The best yet, however, was my dear father-in-law trying to ride my ski.
He's in shorts, positions himself standing behind the tray and reaches for the start button. Simultaneously, he is reaching for the throttle.
I was going to start saying something, but left it alone.
You know what happened....ski starts, he grabs throttle, his face gets all distorted, then he holds his nuts.

Me & Phill are rolling around on the ground slapping the grass.

"Uh yeah, Dave...you gotta be careful with that!"

i get that just about everytime i go out too. they like to stare and then they say. that thing looks pretty new what year is it. when i say an 04 they are floored. this last weekend actually......then a 300lb guy backs his suv down the boat ramp. the guy on the bank looks at the suv and then back at my sj and says, "there is nothing personal about that one is there". people seem to love em they are just too lazy. hell....i was out praticing my inverted stabs this weekend and a boat started making waves for me and my buddy. people get a kick out of watching us out there. i guess we really are like a circus show.

Doug, you are deffinetly one of a kind, maybe you should put your board shorts back on and start doing some freestyle again. I would hate to be better on your ski then you are. hahahaha:tomato:

Did we get any good vid from Sebastian on Saturday? Sorry dude, I sucked taping you! Damn waves rolling in with no sleep, and trying not to sink the skiff all at the same time had me flustered. lol Im glad we were able to tow the boat in before it sunk. Yikes that was scary!

I hate the "You got of of the 'old school' kind, huh?" question, as if somehow my Octane or SXR aren't new enough. BUt then I think to myself, yeah I am kickin it old school and new school at the same time, bitch!

I got some pink speedos that I wear sometimes. I bought them specifically for when I ride my sxr. Nothing else vents the air around your "no-no spot" like a good pair of speedos. I'll agree the ladies love them, and most of the guys laugh, and some guys love them too.
