That third link should provide some info on rebuild kits. I don't think SBN and BN parts are interchangeable...but I may be wrong.

I know John @ JSS loves them. Give him a call, I am sure he's got tons of info.

That groupk write-up says it has a lot weaker signalling and makes it sound like it's a lot more difficult to tune. I read on pwct it's taper-bored too. I was also led to believe that sbn's and i-body mikuni's were the same other the limited reading i'd found about their external appearances. Thanks guys.

................................ FWIW: another writeup I read stated it was much more forgiving to/ altitude, humidity and temp changes due to the acc/pumps ! I doesent need signal to draw the fuel when its forced in under pressure , was my understanding

yeah, but Neil (RMBCFreeride) did this mod before John did, said they worked really well on his SJ...........

Just to clarify... BK is right I have used a couple differnt setups with the I-series carbs. i actually turned John on to the idea.

BUT... He and I have only used the 40I (like what comes on a SXR or a SEA-DOO 720/800).

These are not the same as the 44I that come on the GP800 and some of the bigger seadoos. I have no experience with them on a SJ.

My very best setup with these carbs (40i) was a set that had been modified by Novi: 42mm with their booster venturi. Very snappy on a 701-760, but I would not recommend it for much over 760cc. Very easy to tune and a very strong signal due to the way the I-body throat is shaped. I still have this set but all my motors are too big for them now!
