300/440/550 I beg you for help weathers to beautiful!

Helllooo everyone, pleasure to meet such knowledgeable individuals! Ive Tore down all kinds of motors to nuts and bolts, but last week bought my first ski- 85 Kawi 550. i was pumped as can be to learn something new and tinker with the thing until i realized it wouldnt start...

---compression Test: Rear cylinder-GooD! Front Cylinder...well piston moves but wont even blow my thumb off the spark plug hole...

*That front cylinder, is whats keeping me ashore here in michigan, i live on the lake and all i can do is watch.

--- popped the cover off the top of the jugs, piston is moving when i turn it over, cylinders are not badly scored, no holes in piston no carbon the damn thing looks good, but wont compress me some air.

--- I contacted the moron i got it from (200$) and ask him why he sold me a blown motor in it, he claims it ran PERFECT 5 years ago... So after hootin n hollerin he agreed to give me another kawi 550 he has for parts in exchange for the headache.

MY QUESTION IS: WHY THE HELL IS THERE NO COMPRESSION IF THE PISTON HAS A GOOD SEAL TO THE CYLINDER!?

Kickin it old skool
well obviously something doesnt have a good seal.my old ski when i took it out of storage when i first got it the piston rings where stuck and it didnt have any compression.could of been sitting for longer then the said 5 years

u may want to mic the piston and cylinder to check for proper clearance, make sur the piston ring gaps are offset and check the o ring for the head...strt there and see what happens

...chaos? Its Fair!
Ya one small hole in the crush ring or metal will create very little comp at all. You may just need a new head gasket. Otherwise I would then check piston and ring clearance.
