Hydro Turf Question

Hello Everyone

I have a Square Nose that I am re painting and I want to hydro turf the nose, rails, dash, and or course the tray which has foot holds.

How many sheets of 40 x 62 B stock should I order from hydro turf to do the whole job.

Where can I buy the paddings for under the tray turf??

I was told to buy contact cement??

Any tips I have never turfed before.

Thanks

Dan

First time Hydroturfing 2 sheets ( gray diamond mold is on sale ! ) pading you can get at Hydroturf too, contact cement I got mine at Home Depot..

Make sure to take your time, to get a good turf job I apply 2-3 layer each side with about 15-20 min drytime inbetween, going arround corners / stretching I use a heat gun ( apply with care ! ) .

First time you'll need 2 sheets

Underpadding from Hydroturf direct

contact cement = DAP Weldwood

Use heat gun to soften/mold turf, razor blades to cut turf, and rubber mallet to mold turf into spaces and to allow the contact cemement to work.

where is the best place to but hydro turf??? without having to spend more then 60 bucks, im planning to put in footholds. i would like to buy it in a big enough sheet to do the whole tray and the side caps on a sxr 800.

I spent over 100 on hydroturfs website on just 1 sheet (not b stock though), underpadding 8mm and a few other things. Walmart has the contact cement way cheaper then lowes or hydro turf will sell it for. 32 oz for <$6 at walmart.

Just another question since im in mid turfing. Do you guys use one sheet for the whole tray and side area or one for the bottom and anotehr piece for the sides? Can it be molded to fit seamlessly?

Yes, let Hydroturf know you are a member of either PWCToday or X-H20 if ordering by phone. I think they ask for your screen name as well when an online order is placed. The discount is a nice, but Hydro turf isn't cheap so be patient during the install?

Shadow7874 - You would need to use individual pieces for the sides and tray area, for a total of threee pieces.

Kind of off topic but I have a quick question. When installing turf should I do the sides first, then the dash, then the bottom? Or does it not really matter? I'm trying to think which edges should be visible.
