SX/SXi/SXi Pro hull repair /strengthen

I have a few stress cracks on the upper part of my hull near my handle pole and would like to strengthen from the underside. I am thinking of buying the thin sheets of fiberglass, but does anyone have any recommendations on what type of resin would work to adhere these to the hull?

Don't even waste your time with polyester resin, the Pre 1998 Kawi hulls are made with SMC and the ONLY resin that will stick is epoxy.

interesting. mine is a 98 sxi pro. I tried using a West marine epoxy six10 on the handle pole and found that even though it was strong, it was also brittle and over time cracked.

I did follow up with the link you provided as well as making a phone call to them. I reallllly appreciate the advice from both of you, I was going the wrong direction.

The 635 epoxy works great, medium hardener to give you work time. Look at the 17oz stitched biax fiberglass. It conforms very well to the contours when wet out properly and doesn't fray all over or pull easily like a woven. You will not ave to do as many layers with that weight either. Prep work is a big part of the repair!!! Grind/sand and clean before laying any glass.
