650/X-2 Hull crack question?

I cracked my 1988 650 sx hull from subbing it to much its only a small crack probably about 4 inches long on the very top of the ski, the crack isn't all the way through but if you push on it it will start to crack. any suggestions as to how to repair this. bondo or fiberglass?

Fix it by getting rid of it and getting a SJ. lol But seriously I would use fiberglass and if you plan on riding that hull for a while might want to do the inside of the hull so it doesn't crack more or in other places.

4 inches is pretty freaking long. You need to repair it and you have to epoxy resin. Polyester resin that you can get locally from walmart or auto parts stores won't stick to your hull. US composites has some of the best prices on cloth and resin.

Prep inside and outside, then glass a few layers on both sides and sand down on outside until it looks good, just don't sand all the glass off.

I know when I repaired my friends ski I actually opened up the crack with a grinder and with good resin and carbon fiber patch from both side at the same time and it's good as new and it's actually stronger than before.

when you prep to fix with glass, you have to grind down into the hull a bit in an oval is shape around the crack so that when you add the glass you rebuild the strenght. without making a high spot.

if you just glass on top of the crack and try to sand it flat, you'll just sand all the glass off. accomplishing nothing.

It accomplishes everything
