HP Touchpad craze

Did anyone else get in on the HP fire sale on Touchpads?

I got 2 from CDW thanks to my account rep from work. I'm a very low maintenance customer for him, so he makes commission without having to do much, so I think that helped.

They are nice tablets, we're keeping one and giving the other to my wife's mom so I don't have to get monthly calls about how she thinks she messed up her laptop.

I have one other order in but I have about .1% confidence it will go through.

Heh, I heard about that on Buzz Out Loud.
If I had known about it beforehand, I might have ordered one.
Don't really need it, but it might have been nice.

Ohh, I ordered via HP home and small business and people are saying they are starting to get fulfilled. Fingers crossed!

How do you like the touchpad?

The down side is that if HP stops providing updates to WebOS the thing will become full of security holes and evil people can mess with your stuff. The upside is a group of people are working to get android to install on it. That big screen for so cheap was an amazing deal. Glad some of you got in on it.

I put Cyanogenmod on our TP tonight.

Wow. WebOS was good, at least I thought so before this.

BTW, I did end up getting my other order, so got 4 total and sold 3 of them. I sold them slightly below what they were going for on Craigslist just to get rid of them and give someone else a deal. I think on average I made $50/each so after paying for our's, made a little profit and got a free one basically.

I think now that Android is much easier to install and more polished on it, their value will go up some if it hasn't already.

I run C7 on my Droid1, easily the best mod out so far. Have you tried playing with the cpu governor yet? I've got my phone to the point where it will last days at 200mhz running ondemand performance, but tops at 800mhz with absolutely no glitches at all.

I almost considered picking one up but was waiting to see how long it would take for the android guys to root it.

I had CM7 on my Droid X but it was horrible.  Constant reboots, camera was glitchy and slow, videocamera nonfunctional, and more.  I switched to MIUI on it, pure awesome.

Im not sure if you guys are talking about rooting and running different interfaces but pre ginger bread I had my phone rooted. I just used it for free wifi tether and it was nice to be able to take pictures of your screen (screenshots)

Since the upgrade I can no longer root my phone, well I can it just seems like more work than its worth and having some problems with pre existing superuser.

Sad to say but im wanted to jump on the apple bandwagon. The put everyone one one piece or hardware so the software doesn't glitch as much.

Kind of offsubject but im sitting in the airport terminal and not much happened since I've went to bed hours ago.

No kidding... CM7 on the original droid runs like a top. I'd say my best uptime was about three weeks, and after that had to clear the dalvik cache out and it ran like a top again.

Miui looks slick, I'll have to check it out, thanks.

I really want to try one... I have the Asus transformer and a brand new Ipad 2 then my dad has the Samsaung galaxy tab. It would be need to see how it compares to the other three. So far my favorite is the Asus though! How are you liking the hp?

I have a Nook Color ($179) that I run CM7.2 on. I really like.

Not saying it's the same as that Touchpad, but it does all that stuff you listed above just fine.
