factory pipe dry pipe type 4s hit are known for their mid to top range, and lack the bottom of a B'pipe.

how does it measure up when a water injection is connected?

anybody ever feel it first hand?

they hit down low ok
i find they have less up top than most other dry pipes
it depends on so many things i guess
water injection on a factory drypipe is ok if you can get the water out soon enough

I run my 4 really dry with the PWM on full low then start the taper as low as possible and it hits nice. The key like anything is getting the carbs dialed in then the water injection. I rode back to back my ski with the 4 and the exact same setup with a b-pipe and mine hit a lot better. Now i didn't tune the other boat so I can't say for sure how dialed in the carbs were or anything. I will say a well tuned type 4 setup can and does give you a nice hit with lots of mid and top for an all around fun ride. I run my water injection on a sep. switch and it is a big difference you can easily feel. Right now I am elbows deep in a motor swap and I am going to try to run a blaster mod b-pipe and see how it works.

but wouldn't you have to have rejetted the carbs when switching from a 4 to a B and retuned it? im no expert but it seems like they're different applications and would need different jettings...i dont know...

it was two different skis compared back to back same prop same timing everything the same other then then pipe and jetting...or did you mean my motor swap? If so then yeah 100% different, ports, displacement, pipe, reeds systems, ignitions....I am not reusing anything other then the waterbox and battery under the hood from one setup to the next.

But to answer your question YES water injection will make a BIG difference, there are a few people on here that rode my ski and will tell you it is deff a fun setup and it sounds sah-weet! Only reason i'm swapping motors is...well there is no reason other theni have the parts and wanted to see how they hit, then the type 4 will go into my spare "out of towner" ski for my ski freinds from out of town.

which water injection system did you use? I think the MSD system is the only hands on adjustable one.

i ride 80% flatwater and can't decide if i want a b'pipe and give up the nice mid and top.

dual 44s, RAD fw, ADA girdled @ 180psi, Jetworks freestyle port, 61x on 62T, MSD enhancer, skat 14-18, and this dry pipe.

waiting on new MSD ProDigi TL system. need trigger plate by the way, anybody?

i think i just may keep it. you run yours on a on/off switch for days you just dont want it or something, right?

Tricky1's got insane hitting motors and all he uses are dry pipes.

Yeah with that setup it would be hard to not hit like a drunk sailr on shore leave. I run it on the on off switch for three reasons. 1. it will put a slow drain on the battery over time when not being ridden. 2. after some kind of water injestion in the surf sometime you need every little bit of battery to clear everything out 3.detune it if for some reason i let a newbie/novice ride it.

I'm not too fond of the MSD controller...comes on too late...I like the Microtouch much better, can set it to come on as early as 1500 as jimtmich said...
