1.How do I know if my carbs are running to ritch or to lean?
2.How do I ensure that both carbs preforms the same?
3.How do I know if my jets are to small big?
4.What happens with an engine that runs ritch?
5.What happens with an engine that runs lean?

Here is how I do it (might be wrong dont hold me against it) Just tuned my dual 44s tonight on my fresh motor... in the dark.

to Lean: cutting out no power, sounds like a miss in a car motor
Lean but almost perfect: ALOT of power - this is where good tuners say you get the most HP, but you fry top ends faster
Perfect: less power then the slightly lean setup, good power every where. no hesitation, no cutting out, and it IDLES!!
Too Rich: when u brapp the throttle quickly whether it be on the low or the high it hesitates or "Loads up" with too much fuel, Not a bad thing especially on a newer motor, cuz ur not gonna ruin anything if ur tuning it in, basically giving the pistons a bath lol

I usually start out rich on my adjustments and work my way to perfect, good piece of mind that Im not gonna starve this motor for fuel/oil and lock it up. for instance: these carbs came from a 760 waverunner, going on a ported/bored 701. started at 2 turns out on HI, 1 1/2 turn out on low. ended up with 1 turn out on high, 3/4 on low. Idles good, nice amount of smoke out the tail pipe, no overheating, sounds good, etc.

The absolute best way to do it, and most will agree is with a Tach installed, so you can watch RPMS the motor is putting out

Im sure something im doing might be a little off but it works for me

Learn how to tune a leaf blower first. They will teach you what to listen for since the fan loads the same way our pumps do.

^Except I would never just sit there and hold my ski wide open. Sort of the same concept...however I typically tune my leaf blower for wide open..by holding it wide open and adjusting the screw(s).

Guess there is a right way, and a wrong way for things like that...im probably doing it the wrong way, but who cares with a $20 yardsale leaf blower :)

I'm confused where the correct position would be for my low speed adjuster. I have been searching for the past hour, the factory settings for my 90 superjet. It's difficult for me, because it's a 760 dual carb engine, and that's all I really know. I feel like I'm left in the dark. I read the mukuni page, and I understand that the low speed adjuster is used for obtaining a smooth idle only, and that any changes made to the idle stop screw will require readjustment of the low speed adjuster. On my ski, the idle is turned down so it will not idle. So how am I supposed to properly adjust my low speed adj if the idle is turned down so low, not allowing it to idle? I could turn the idle stop screw up, allowing it to idle, then adjusting the low speed, but then when I turn the idle stop screw back out to not allow idling, won't that throw off my low speed adj? Sorry if I'm mega confusing, my brain is a crazy place.

Group k has good info about carb tuning in their archive. Its not hard to get it pretty close, you want seamless metering, simplest test is to hit the throttle quickly from off idle to wide open, rich or lean will be very obvious.
