My 98 has a replacement cylinder on it, and its supposed to be a 61x, how can I visually verify that?

For one thing, it's stamped either 61x or 62T. (Bottom of the cyl)

Secondly, the T cylinder has a wider top (for exhaust brackets) to where you couldn't bolt a girdle head on without modification.

Well, thats odd because Greg just bolted his ADA on with out any altering. I just wanted to verify it so I know what I have, some other things were not exactly as he thought.

62T and 6M6 cylinders have 2 more horizontal holes ABOVE the PTO exhuast mount ports.

the 61 x cylinders are the only ones that have NO horizontal holes exposed once the exhuast manifold is bolted up.

Id get you pics to explain better, but my camera isnt here.

No need I think, I remember two extra holes on the 62t when we bolted up his drypipe manifold. thx

62t cylinder has an extra larger threaded hole near the head bolt hole, on the rear ( PTO) left corner

it would normally interfere with a girdle kit because [when stock] its not STRAIGHT above the lower cylinder bolt.

dang it, I wish I had a camera

Yep when i put mine on didn't have to alter anything either.

Put down the hard lemonade, you two.

I said the T cylinder needs modification - not the X Cylinder. A T cylinder never came stock on a SJ (stateside), so it'd make sense that Greg's wouldnt' need altering.

So our 62t motors have 61x cylinders stock? well, ok.

What you call a T motor, is a stock 96 and up SJ motor. 62T bottom, 61X cylinder.
Roger that, and Greg has the Mikes hard lemonade.:shooter3:

I may be going back to stock 38's, Gregs boat is so much smoother off idle, and crisp. (unless I port it)
