How to: Make a ride plate

Hey guys,

I want to have a crack at making a carbon fiber ride plate, but I have no idea on how to / what to do. I had a quick search but couldnt really find anything that would help me.

Any of you fiber glass geeks want to give me a quick lesson on how to make a mold of a ride plate and then lay up some glass or carbon.

It's complicated dude, even I cant remember the process. I do know that theres a thread where I think its Goose, who builds an entire ski from scratch and made a rideplate, someone did it.

flash-fx has a nice long write up.

OP-youtube has lots of videos on it. it will take a lot of money just to get started. unless you know you will be doing alot of stuff for a long time, just buy one and save yourself the trouble.
