i was wondering if the clamp came apart in two or if i had to take the stock grips off to slide it off...the left side of the switch is all glued together into the grips/bars

some people try to seal them, that may be what the glue is. It is 2 halves and comes apart very easy unless it is glued with something crazy.

thats what i figured....its glued hella tight, definitely gonna break it getting it in two. can i then just replace the housing?

I dont think you'll find anyone selling just the housing. just use a razor or something to cut along the seem and try to pry it apart carefully.

x2 my SN came like that. the guy before had filled almost the entire switch with silicone. it was a pain but with a razor and patience it came apart and stayed in working order. just take your time and be careful not to knick the wires.

Big pair of pliers and a blow torch should help.

Actually if you need a set of switch housings let me know. I believe I have a extra set, they may not be beautiful but will work.
