Anyone have a how to for backy technique? How do you get the rotation? I assume we are talking about a capable boat with trim.

I am looking to learn and want to minimize the carnage on my ski. I am OK with set up wakes, and we have a tour boat that leaves a nice swell that we follow. I'm not sure which is the better way to learn.....cruiser swell or setup?

I see some guys tall and arching their back (like lucaumpits), and if you watch Malone's Q8 vid with the stock Kawi motor hes completely squatted down (azz on his heals) as the boat goes vertical and leaves the water.

You see lots of guys really high with no rotation, and just pancaking. I dont want to be that guy..............lol

Any help is appreciated.

Off a good boat wake is the fastest way to learn.... Under powered ski I normally hit close to the boat where the wave has good form... Just pull trim, Brap, & look back it will come right around

It takes time to get them off your setup wake... Wake has to be decent so pull trim while making your setup wake, the little pre brap or hop, what ever you want to call it really helps load the pump & get the ski to come around.

Low in the tray will help you go bigger or look bigger... Lucas has been trying to get me to do that, I just forget

Just huck it!! Form is very important, too. Arms stretched out, definitely throw your head back, it'll help out, and make sure that you PIN the throttle. Not 3/4, not 7/8, PINNED. The only way you'll get it is by trying a few times. I pancaked a few V-Wake flip attempts before I got the flat water flip down, but mannnnn, they're addicting!

Pancaking doesn't hurt as bad as you think it will. Follow all the advice above and focus on not letting go of the ski. Pushing it away in the air is how you can get hurt if it somehow lands on you.
