What is the best way to Clearance cases for a stroker crank? My rods seem to be hitting almost all the way around. Just have at it with a die grinder? or is there a better way?
Thanks in advance.

yes you can use a die grinder and make a channel for the rod end to clear .or you can get it done at a machine shop which the final product will look better but who sees it anyways.

I've just written a programme to do these on the CNC because I seem to be doing quite a few, the other way is to spin them up in a lathe and go in with a long tool. If you only have one to do just mark up the cases, rough it out with a die grinder then finish with a belt sander to make it look neat. Don't take any more out than you have to but use a set of feelers to make sure it clears all the way round.

I have mine machined by Ron, the old machinest from R&R jet tech. He has a jig that he made back in the mod days that makes a perfect cut to clear the rods. He charges $175 and it's well worth it!
