No, im not talking about my weiner. lol. Im caught up at work and bored as hell. I just bought a oem un cut RN pole for my 00 RN. I know I want to cut it, and I like the way a ski rides with a shorter pole. Im going to shorten it from the top this time, I was thinking of cutting it and getting the curve out of it, which would be about a 4-5 inch cut. I know its preference, but has anyone cut theirs that short and then thought that was too much? Im kinda thinking it will look more A/M with the curve out of it. The last pole I cut was a fx1 pole which is already shorter and I took about 2 1/2" out of it, I never rode it before I sold it though.

I wanna say you can only take 3-4" off the top before it gets too thick for the sleeve. But been awhile.
But IMO if you have the time, start with the top and do the max then hit the bottom. For the bottom do 1-2" increments and only rivet so you can pull apart and chop off more if needed. When at your liking epoxy and forget it.
If you go too far you always get an 1" or 2 back with steering setup.

I dont even think you can get 4 inches out of it. I wanted to do the same but I think it's only two inches until the fiberglass is too fat to fit in the aluminum

Well as many of you know im a frickin moron. I cut the pole 3 times from the top. The first 2 went smooth and I put it away, then I had a few beers and told myself im a pu55y if I dont cut it again. The pole does get a little bigger by the 3rd cut, but with a little help from the ol side grider that was fixed and it slid on the end. I tapped on it side to side and it was in place, then I notice a huge F ing crack on plate, or whatever the hell you call it. So to answer my own question, 3 cuts from the top is too much. Just wanted to pass this along, you are safe with 2 cuts on the top. Now I gotta find someone to weld this damn thing.
