Super Jet How much is a Yamaha 62t worth?

I know a guy selling a 62t motor out of a wave raider. It made 160/163 on the compression tester. Needs pistons because one has a crack in it. I want to buy the motor WITHOUT carbs, electrics, or an exhaust manifold. What do you think it's worth? Im not trying to screw myself and I don't want to low ball him. Just let me know thanks.

Less than that. You can easily? Find a stock complete raider or similar with the 701 plat for under a grand with a trailer. Sell the left overs and ur better off than starting with a project. Those comp numbers right??

I think 400 for a bad short block is a steep. You can get a 62t motor with carbs, electronics, 150/150 in good shape for $800 all day long. Raiders for $1200 are very common. Raiders with good motors that are not water ready are frequently $800.

$400 for a motor that needs work? I think you should get carbs and electronics with it. If it needs pistons, it probably needs a bore. $80 per cylinder x 2 + pistons, rings. Assuming everything else is good.

160/160 on a boat that comes 150/150 stock that has damage? How did he crack a pistons w/o causing other damage? I have a bad motor I can pour some oil in and get some higher compression numbers for you if you like.

I plan on rebuilding the motor completely and I allready have a carb and electronic setup. I guess I could buy it complete and just make an offer on the whole setup. Maybe like $300ish?

Honestly that comp reading would worry men and the cracked piston makes me cautious as to why the problem happened in the first place

Well it's getting turned into a group k 850. So comp doesn't matter to me. This is more or less just for core parts.

If it turns over by hand, and there isnt a hole in it, id give the dude 200 bucks for it complete minus electrics.

Sounds like its got compression issues for sure. I would offer 300 tops.
