Right now I have :stooges: 2 couches:17: and 2 :hail: superjets.:cool2: I took them all to the family lake place on lake of the ozarks this weekend. At first, everyone in the family was like ''whoa they still make these?" and by the end of the weekend people were only riding the couches when they couldnt ride the superjets. :woot: :arms: :cheer: 5 cousins, my dad, an uncle, and a cousin's gf all got hooked on riding standups in less than 48 hours.:Banane01: From sunrise to past sunset, I dont think there was a time where either ski was sitting for more than 20 minutes each day. One cousin wants to get a beater SJ right now so he can start learning how to do tricks.

Post any similar experiences you've had...

Cannot say that I went from "couch to SU", but my first time on a ski was an 800-SXR. That did not go very far as I was not use to the balance act... but the Octane got me hooked... thousands of dollars later (not just in the skis themselves) I have Prem1x to thank...

I now have a 1995 Blaster and a 2005 SJ.

Thanks Christian.

I've got an SS 02 XPL that I would bring up to a annual gathering of friends in upstate NY on lake Sacandaga. Everyone loved to beat the piss out of it, also loved the speed the thing has. So last year, I bring up my SJ, and only the SJ. Everyone was pretty upset. That was until they tried it, everyone fell in love with it. People who were afraid to ride the couch, had no problem getting on the stand up. It saved me a bunch of $ on gas, plus time wrenching on the sea-poo.
Some of my friends were unable to stand on the SJ, but didn't care, they'd fall off and keep trying. If more people were exposed to stand ups, I think the sport would actually grow faster than the current trend, people buying sit downs.

Similar here....in 2003, I bought a brand-new Seadoo GTI LE. Loved it and rode it a lot that year, me, family, and friends.
In 2004 I bought a brand-new Seadoo XP-DI. Loved it, rode the piss out of it that year. (Sold the GTI). I kept catching myself doing tailstands with the thing, but found that's the only thing it could do.
Then everyone on PWCT kept talking about Superjets. So, in February of 2005 I put a wanted ad for a Superjet out.
Kevin Redinger (Race promoter in PacNW) hooked me up with a retired race Squarenose with a 650. Rode it and loved it. I figured I would keep the XP DI and ride both.
I rode the Square for a month and then came across an incredible deal on 2 newer couches and an 01 Superjet. I got those, sold both the couches that came with it, sold the Square to Phill (My bro-in-law).
Still I had the XP. Turns out, it was only being ridden by friends and family now. Phill and myself would ride only the Superjets. After a while I'd had enough of paying for other people, and put the XP up for Sale.
Between me and Phill, we now have four (!) Superjets.

I went from a 550js to a couple of 750 sx's then to a couple of couches (gp1200 and xl760 and then back to a superjet

I've come full circle but wish I still had my gp 1200 for big surf days:cool2:

Same here.... Torn up all the waters/waves around Virginia Beach on an 00XPL fot 5 years. (Was a great boat) But last year I moved to a Blaster for the surf, picked up a SJ last month and haven't gotten off of the sj yet.

The only not so couch I will ever own, and probably will always own is my B1! I plan on adding an SJ or SXR next summer. In the meantime I got my buddys limited SJ to rip. I usually ride it more than he does! So far this summer I have learned on flat water- 180stabs, subs, circle tailstand things. Of course ripping around a few bouys, or crabtraps. I love it!

yup...in 1992 i rode my friends X2. The next summer I bought a '93 ProVXR, in '94we added a Polaris SL650. In 1995 we traded both in for a '95 Waveraider 1100 and a '95 Polaris SL700. In '98 traded the raider in for a GP1200 and sold the polaris. In 2001 living in Mobile I bought a used '93 waveblaster and also ripped the GP apart in tropical storm surf. A little earlier that same year I saw Malone pull a BF at Fort Walton Beach and was hooked. I bought a new left over 2001 superjet in May of 2002 and have never looked back.

The blaster looks nice on the trailer but rarely gets ridden. Every summer at the beach I still get... "they still make those things?"...

About 6 years ago I purchased a SeaPoo GTX I then got bored riding around in circles so I went out and purchased a used Kaw SX from there the obsession started and a year later I was looking for a round nose. Our group has turned into my pastime and we have a bunch of great people in the St. Louis crew. Oh yea, I still have the SeaPoo, I pull my boys tubing and skiing.
