how fast does your freestyle ported engine go?

every one here seems to want a freestyle ported cylinder..im planning on sending mine off to get some port work . getting all this bottom end power how much top end do you get. i just want to jump the wakes more then once. this is for a 94 square.

Well...my ski tops out at about 45mph, I think. Keep in mind, that's a freestyle port job, B-Pipe (doesn't rev all that high) and a 13/16 impeller (not that good for top speed)

That said, I hardly ever go top speed for more than a couple of seconds. But good point: When I do, it's to catch up with boats so I can get wake.

However, most boats that throw a good wake travel relatively slow.

cool i wasnt sure ive never really rode a freestyle ported cylinder. ive read a million post .i want alot of bottom end just wanted to be able to hit the boat wakes more then once.i never ride wot on stand ups. my blaster on the other hand .i wasnt sure if you freestyle port and the low props i thought it might be a 30 mphr boat. but 45 to 50 is plenty for me.

thing is, it gets there really quick!!!!!!!!!!

to give you an idea, several years ago, think 2000 or 2001, Jeff Jacobs Sj only did mid 50's whereas Mac's, Rius, and others were hitting low to mid 60's but he kicked their tails!!!!!!!!! top speed does not mean you win the race....... I know, it off topic but some good info.

would do 57mph on the radar
and was a missile off the bottom as well

In fact, Malone claims that his craft will actually hit top speeds of around 57 mph. Not bad when you consider that one of the main objectives that Malone has to keep in mind when building his freestyle craft is the bottom-end acceleration.

this is from r&d website

and thats with a repitched concord as well

Mmph...maybe I am faster than I think. I got a FS ported 736, dual 44s, B-Pipe, 13/16 concord.

Maybe it's me slowing it down.

sweet i cant wait to get my cylinder sent off next week.how much compression is lost when freestyle porting is done. i have a170 girtle head . i might keep it if it doesnt change much.

For a Freestyle port, the exhaust port height shouldn't be raised.
However, the total port area will increase (due to widening), causing a drop in cranking compression.

any idea 5psi or 10psi i know it probally depends on whats done . maybe should just pick up an ada head jetworks has the ada girtle setup with domes of choice for 299.00
