How do you stay in the footholds?

Ok so today I managed to shave a huge chunk of skin off my shin for the third time due to slipping out of the footholds in a jump. Surely there's something I can do to stay in these things without risking breaking an ankle. Currently I have the REV enclosures that will hold my feet in laterally but nothing keeping them from sliding backwards...

Should I try to build up the rear like a rear tray wedge? Is there anything else that might better? Either way, I need to find something that will keep my feet in place.

you need more padding or turf so you can kick in snug, but not too tite.

I am wearing wrestling shoes and the turf was installed at the beginning of the season. I don't have a whole lot of padding right now so maybe that's it. When I try to put my foot in the hold, it definately acts like you're putting your foot on something solid as opposed to wedging your foot in the hold.

When you install the turf you need to fit it exactly to your foot. When you have all of the padding so that your foot (with your shoes on) are just a bit loose then when you install the turf it makes it is just on the tight side so that you have to pull your foot out. I had the revs without enclosures and you could wipe out and your feet would stay in there it is just how they are preped before the turf.
