300/440/550 how do i tell

Alright so heres my situation. I recently inherited alot of 440/550 parts. I have 2 empty hulls as of right now that are both chopped for flatdecks. I want to put 550 motors in them and i have numerous bottom and top ends of motors laying around. How do i tell what is a 550 part and what is a 440 part?

By "flatdeck" do you mean the rails have been cut off/down? Sorry for being dumb here but just wondering.

The bottom end parts are interchangable with the exception that the cases have to be enlarged on some 440's to accept the larger 550 pistons.

flat deck yes the sides are cut off..

And i know there different and somewhat interchangeable but how to i tell the difference in parts.. i have 3 topends and 2 bottom ends how do i know what parts are for 550 and what are 440?

Well I could just look at them and tell the difference,but you will probably have to do some measuring,I will measure across the bottom of a 440 piston and give you that spec if it will help.
