How do I get the bearings off the driveshaft?

I got the shaft out of the pump but how do I get the bearings off?

I use a press. You could cut them off with a cutoff wheel if you are super careful.

Make sure not to hurt that shaft surface though.

I would like to keep them intact. Is there a way to remove them without damaging them?

A press will take them off damage free.

How old is the pump? I would suggest to throw your old pump bearings away. There is alot of options for rebuild kits.

Well if I am going to a shop should I have them press the shaft back into the pump too?

I have never been a fan of re-using old bearings

I am going to use new bearings. But either way I don't want to cut them off.

Dont cut them off, a press is the only right way to install them, so you might as well use it to removed the bearings. If you dont have a press pay someone to remove and install the bearings for you

Just wondering your reason for this^^^? You dont have to cut them off just use a soft brass hammer and hit the outside of bearing race. And then do yourself a favor and throw them in the trash.

It takes 2 seconds to pop them off with a press and there's no risk of nicking the shaft. Why would you go to all that trouble cutting them off when you still need to use a press to re-install the bearings

I was responding to quinc post. I would never risk cutting them off. Just wondering why quinc wants to take them off intact? Either way there trash.
