How do I get a 13/18 swirl?

I want a 13/18 swirl. I see that the diameter of the pump is the same for the 800 as the 650 (140mm). What exactly has to be cut to make it fit? Is this something that is simple to measure that Tom21 could cut it on his lathe for me? Does Skat-trak or Impros actually make a 13/18 swirl for the 650 pump or the new option is still means I'd have to buy a larger prop and have it cut? Please post specifics and I'll link this post in the "mods" sticky. Thanks.

I'm running a 10/18 650 prop (straight edge) right now. The motor revs then boat has to catch up.

The 750-800 prop has to be cut back and the splines shortened for 650 use. Its easy to do on a lathe once you make a mandrel to hold the prop straight.

Props are a little different between brands, just screw on the new prop and measure it. A 650 drive shaft bottoms against the prop shaft. Cut the back side until the prop shaft is at the splines. Then remove splines so they clear the drive shaft.

i cannont answer your question 100% but a 13/18 swirl is straght off an sxr (great pitch)- i believe they are made by skat "but dont quote me" im running one on my x2 in a mag pump however the pump is also made for a sxi/sxr, but i did look at fitting it in the 650 housing first..

Its pritty simple really, buy the swirl and either borrow or remove your 650 prop, there is an obvious step on the 750/800 props about 10mm or so- you have to remove that, i dont actually believe you have to remove some of the spline in the prop if you set the prop back in the pump further (closer the better to the veins) but this can only be done with you measuring it as you are doing the machine work, making sure your edges dont hit the veins..allot of people also kick up the edges to give a little more bottom end... its an easy job mate and worth it!! OPTION 2 fit a 750 pump in it, but you might have to do a slight bit of machine work anyway.

I was hoping Crab, Legdragger or Shawn_NJ would have chimned in by now, said they had 6 or 7 extra of them lying arround and sold one to me cheap. I guess I'll be giving Tom some business as soon as I can find a reasonable priced prop.

I don't think buying a brand new 13/18 swirl for the 650 pump is an option. Skat-trck doesn't offer swirls for my pump. I'm going to call them in the next few days and ask if they make custom props. I can get delaer pricing from them.

Im sure you already know this... But Impros will sell you that sxr prop and hone it down to fit the 650 pump. I actually bought a used sxr prop and sent it to them to get worked. Im running a stock 750 motor right now and the boat rips.. just my 2 cents.

skat c-75 is a big hub swirl impeller. but they cost about 250.00 bucks brand new from impros. very nice wheel tho

vumad what pump are you running in the x2
impros hooked mine up, set it at 14/19 hooks up great and i have a hooker set at 9/17, but they are right a stock sxr wheel come 13/18 it is just too heavy for my set up.

I am running the stock 650 X2 pump with a 10/18 straight edge. The motor revs way faster than the boat moves from a dead stop, it's obviously slipping. At 15-20 MPH it's very snappy/hooks up great to the top end. I think a 13/18 swirl would get me that bottom end hook up I'm severely lacking. The water injection screws are messed up on my B-pipe. All the screws are essentially wide open atm. My pipe chamber will not sizzle, it's actually the coldest part of the motor assembly. I'll be turning even more horsepower when I get that fixed (not soon, time to ride). It may even be able to turn a prop larger than 13/18, a 14/19 would be interesting to try, who knows...

I'm confused. How do you say a 13/18 is too heavy but a larger 14/19 works great?

i was just saying that the stock sxr impeller is real heavey. my skat c-75 is 2.34 and the hooker is 2.55. i run a total loss on one x2 and a lite 650 charging stock flywheel that has been liten/drilled. i got it down to 2.23, skis alittle tuff to slow down in the turns, just have to set up for the turn sooner.
