How do I add length to handle pole set up?

I just bought an 02 SJ that has a -4 X-Metal handle pole and bracket. It's a little short for me and wanted to know how I could add an inch or two.

Not sure if that can be done through the bracket or what. I'm pretty new to mods.

Here's what I know about the set up (the guy I bought it from didn't build it and all the info I have is from the build thread here on the X - search 'philly build' and the for sale post from the guy who built it)

X-Metal Steering set-up, -4 Pole and pole bracket, 0 degree UMI handle bars.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

x2 on the plate. you could also get some angled bars, that will bring the grips back an inch or 2. But I personally prefer straight bars anyway.

there arent any brackets to do that. theyre all made to me lower, not fwd or bckwrd.

post a wtt ad like BK said. he just beat me to it.

im guessing youll get a good response from it since most want shorter poles.

What ride plate are you running? I like an uber-short (-4 pole with -3 steering) pole setup with a stock or stock d-cut plate, with an extended plate it hurts my back and handles funny.

It has a Worx ride plate with small d-cut. I'm not sure which model it is (I believe its the 308). I will need to look when I go to my storage unit tomorrow.

The first couple days I rode it was really hard on my back and was hard to even jump off of flat water wakes. i could jump twice as high on my 750sxi which only has ported head, B pipe and Ocean Pro ride plate. (but that pole is too long)

I think the biggest difference was just getting used to the different ski and how it's weighted and the jumps are certainly getting better. Maybe it's just me, but I can hardly ride in the foot holds comfortably with this pole.

Maybe I just need more time to get used to it, it just feels like if it were a little longer, it would feel perfect.

Any other thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

look into getting a stock ride plate. it will keep the nose up and pole closer to you.
