my step-dad grew up riding skis out of ventura harbor and the oil peirs in the 80s. i rember him selling the skis (an '80 440 and '82 550) when i was 8. ii rode th 550 once on my knees and that was about it. when i was 12 my parents bought a '95spx and i rode the poop out of that thing and got in big trouble when i almost sunk it. so i begged and saved and finally, at age 14 i got my 89 650sx. i put a r &d intake great and a k&n filter(ooh) and was stoked. i sold it when i was 19 to pay for a new truck, and didnt start riding again till i was 24, april of 06.
now, my finances are ruined forever

One of my dad's mates was racing open wheelers in Japan and when he came back to Oz, he brought a newfangled gadjet called a js400. I had a ride of that one and broke the steering cable when I was about 5 yrs old.

When I was 12, the same guy brought around two rooted 440's and said if I can get one going for him, I can have the other.

I've raced standups and sitdowns on and off ever since.

Had a seadoo dealership in the early 90's when telling someone that you ride a seadoo was like telling someone that you like to feel up goats.

Built and raced ski's for most of SE Asian region.

I'm 38 now and work on the schitters for a living.

Well..........when I was like a new born baby my Dad had a VXR and I have pictures of me riding in front of him on that but I don't actually remember it at all. Grew up going to the lake all the time with boats, sitdowns and stuff. At 12 I got my boating license and could actually drive the skis by myself. At this point in time my parents had an xlt 1200 and a gp800 and I started riding them. Ehhhhhh. One day we were at the lake and a guy was selling a 92 sx750. I took it for a test ride and thought it was the greatest thing ever. I didn't end up getting that one because he was asking about twice as much as it was worth. Next spring my Dad picked up a 94 sx750 and I rode the living crap outta that thing. 2 years later I decided I wanted some more power and either wanted an sxi pro or a superjet. So I lived in the classifieds and on craigslist, etc. for the next several months and found my soul mate on pwctoday. December 2006 I bought my first roundnose superjet (2000) from a guy in new york and it was love at first sight. My superjet and I have just surpassed our one year anniversary and we are still a happy couple. So yeah, that's my story and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm addicted and it dosen't look like that's gonna be changing anytime soon. My obsession just keeps getting worse and worse.

Attached is a picture from then and now. First picture is like 97 or 98 and second pic is from this past season

I've lived on a lake since I was 5. Never owned a ski but just rode friends couches a few times a season. I saw a few people every summer out ripping it up on stand ups and I knew I wanted to get one. I had been looking off and on for a good deal for at least 3 years until I found 2 650sx down in NJ. I picked them up a few months ago and I'm gonna be using this winter to get them all ready for the summer.

my first time was in 1983 on my uncle's 440 kaw. when I was 8. I put a zillion hours on that ski, then he got a 650sx which I rode the turf off of, I finely bought one in 99 (a broken 650 for $300) which was just the tip of the ice burg. 1- 650, 1-550, 2-ZXI couches, 5-750's, 2-sxr800's, (here is where my friend Jason "AQUA" gets off the couches and buys an 04 Super jet) ,1-99 SJ. and now a happy 08 SJ. that I have taken apart.... and spent well more than the cost of the ski on after market parts.

About a year ago I was surfing Craigslist for old school / big block jet boat stuff, kept running across cheap jetskis, almost bought a 550. Got on PWCtoday.com, everyone was cheering for Superjets, so I found one and haven't looked back. The jet boat addiction still lingers, but the SJ RULES! I have been out on the SJ 10 to 1 over the boat since I got it.
